This page follows the Snyder family tree using my dad as the base person. His maternal line can be found on the Kafer page although she is listed here as well. The family line of both my parents have solid and verified roots going back in generations in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Our ancestors from my dad's side traveled on the Mayflower, signed the Mayflower Compact in November 11, 1620 and were primarily Puritans and Quakers. They were fierce when it came to politics, some even held founding offices. They were passionate about their views and participated in the Underground Railroad (source to follow). They were lawmen and soldiers, fighting in the Revolutionary War and for the North in the US Civil War. My grandfather, Calvin Snyder fought in WWI while my dad and his older brother fought in WWII seeing several major battles. Despite the well recorded history of our family from their arrival in the early 1600's, verifiable records from their home countries are sketchy and wanting for proof. People seem to be click-happy on sites like Ancestry without actually verifying source information. While I did list accepted ancestry for our tree, if leinage cannot be proven or responsibly supported, I have indicated such. I will continue to update all trees on this site as the information becomes available.
